Following damage from Hurricane Katrina in 2005, French landscape designer Louis Benech was hired to renew the garden in 2008. His design employed a geometric arrangement of clipped hedges, a red brick pathway lining the garden’s perimeter, with a cross-shaped, mowed area in the center and multiple squares of ornamental grasses.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo complement this stunning renovated garden, George Rodrigue painted \u003cem\u003eThe St. Louis Garden\u003c\/em\u003e in 2011 specifically to hang in the narrow, corner window of his Royal Street gallery, adjacent to the St. Louis Cathedral and alongside Père Antoine Alley (pictured).
